ICAP Digital Archive

The ICAP Digital Archive is a collaborative project between the Italian-Canadian Archives Project (ICAP) and the Mariano A. Elia Chair in Italian-Canadian Studies at York University.

ICAP is a Canadian not-for-profit charitable organization. ICAP connects, engages and assists communities or individuals across Canada to search out their local Italian-Canadian story. Via local committees and individual members, ICAP guides them to identify, document, and place their collections and stories in a safe space, such as a local museum or archives.

The Mariano A. Elia Chair in Italian-Canadian Studies at York University was established in 1984 with an endowment from the Mariano Anthony Elia Charitable Foundation and matching funds from the Department of the Secretary of State of Canada. The Elia Chair was created to promote knowledge of the Italian-Canadian experience and its contribution to the development of Canada through teaching, research and publication, public forums, conferences, and community outreach.
